Reconstructive FaceLift Dentistry Santa MonicaInstant BracesAt the time our patient presented in our office, she reported that she had researched the internet to find a doctor who could take care of her teeth and provide the cosmetic result she wanted that didn't look fake and fit her face and smile well.
She was also concerned about arresting and successfully eliminating the active gum disease she hadHer goal was to have teeth that were larger than what she had but to have a natural contour. She did not want square looking teeth that, to her, looked fake. Surprisingly, our young patient knew about color gradients in premium veneers.. and mentioned she wanted that for her tooth treatments. She thought the changes in colors reflected a natural look. Dr. Muslin understood she wanted to have the appearance of having her own natural teeth. 
To avoid the added expense (time and money) of specialized perio treatments, the patient was given instructions on how to implement a SonicCare toothbrush, Glide Floss and a Water Pik. Perio Chip technology was used in the teeth scaling that was performed.The treatments were successful in a very short time. Once the gums regained healthy status treatment began for the instant braces, a treatment that would create orthodontically correct teeth with a strong cosmetic makeover quality. The patient's teeth were minimally prepared ... no traditionally invasive tooth prep treatments were used. The patient chose custom fabricated ceramic veneers made of feldspathic porcelain in preference over Dr. Muslin's multiple options that included products by Procera, Empress, Lava or Captek. 
Articulation Studies - Wax Up ModelsWax up models were used in conjunction with an articulator which provided the technical tools and ability to adjust the esthetic qualities that the patient was seeking. Digital photography and the use of temporary veneers provided the additional measures used to assure the patient achieved the precise look and feel she was seeking.
As can be seen in the 3rd picture in the treatment series, the veneer laminates were augmented in 3 dimensions. Our patient wanted not only complementary width and length but the additional thickness or bulk needed for certain tooth structures.Our patient was very pleased with the final outcome. She later reported during a post-op visit to our office that her friends knew something was attractively different about her, but couldn't guess it was because of her new teeth and smile. She feels very natural about her appearance with no self consciousness. |
